Most people who have complained about this story have said that it was out of character. However, in my opinion the Phantom is very much in character in this story - but it is the surroundings, with all the hi-tech virtual reality machines that feel a bit "wrong" for the Phantom.

It is a very good story, but the question is if it is a good Phantom story

This story is very unusual for a Phantom story. First of all, the art by Hans Lindahl is super, some of the best I've seen in many, many years. But the story - with the Phantom fighting bad guys in Cyberspace with a Virtual Reality machine - is probably the kind of story that many fans think will be wrong for the Phantom. I didn't like the idea at first, but the story was so well-made that I like it more than I expected.
